Music has always played an important role in my life.  I grew up in a church where music was vital to congregational life.  I sang in the church choirs from age three to my college years.  I learned scripture through songs sung in Sunday school, VBS and church camp.  Music speaks deeply to my heart and draws me closer to Jesus.

If you know me and been with me in worship for any length of time, you have heard me say over and over, “This is one of my favorite hymns!”  The truth is I have many favorites and it would be almost impossible to pick just one.  Hymns tell us a story as the words, carefully chosen, help us express our faith. Hymns have a powerful melody that remains long after we are finished singing.  Hymns hold memories, snapshots of emotions, and glimpses of time.
