It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for.
Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, he had his eye on us,
had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone. (Eph 1:10-11, MSG)
Sunday August 9th, we officially began our Sanctuary renovation. We ended our time of worship by signing our names on the wall. It was a way of remembering our past, honoring our present and blessing our future. This was an amazing sight to see as each of us signed our names then joined hands as we dedicated this project to God.
For the past five weeks there has been a constant crew of people working hard and investing lots of sweat equity in our Sanctuary. We have had drywallers, flooring specialist, electricians, carpenters and apprentices, painters, cleaners, IT specialists and movers (and even a few cheerleaders) dancing around each other as the work was done. It has been an amazing sight to see each days progress and to finally see it all come together.
This is only the first two phases of our renovation plan and there is more work to be done – new chairs, light fixtures, and entry doors to name a few things. But for now, we celebrate this portion of the renovation, and I am so excited for you to see the transformation in person.
This Sunday we move into our renovated Sanctuary with an Open House and time of special time of blessing our new space. It will be our way of dedicating our Sanctuary to God: blessing all who come through our doors, who sit in our Sanctuary, lift up their prayers, worship through music and hear God’s Word spoken.
I hope that you plan to attend on Sunday and bring a friend or two with you for this Rooted & Ready Celebration! Here is the schedule for the morning:
- Open House 9:30 – coffee and coffee cake provided
- Blessing begins 10:00
- Worship 10:30
- Celebration Lunch 11:30
See you Sunday!
Blessings,
Pastor Jenni
