This week, our journey with Jesus, as told by Luke, continues. We will explore the powerful story from Luke 7:11-17, where Jesus meets a grieving widow and performs a miracle that changes everything. The good news is that Christ’s compassion reaches into our deepest pain and brings new life, even when all seems lost. We might not see a dead loved one brought back to life, but as we gather as a worshipping community, we see the new life of Christ’s presence shining in the lives of those around us and in the faith stories we tell. Great things happen when mercy meets mourning. Lives are changed. Hope replaces despair. And there is the possibility of new beginnings and fresh starts.
I hope to see you Sunday as we dig into the wealth of this story and see where we might step into it’s truth and make it our own!
